amanda valentine: resident badass

Our hearts are all swolled up with proudness for our ladybird Amanda Valentine. All her hard work these past few years has landed her a spot on this season’s Project Runway, and there couldn’t be a more deserving gal. Anyone who has crossed Amanda’s path, has ever had her as a waitress at our neighborhood wine bar or is lucky enough to know her personally, has most certainly been positively affected by her radiant smile, kindness and addictive laugh.

It was apparent that we all share the same sentiment when I walked into a packed out bar filled with friends and family, there solely to show support and cheer for Amanda for the big viewing party of the season premiere. We have all watched her working her butt off these past few years and Nashville is proud to claim her as “ours.” We love you Amanda Valentine. Happy “you” day!

Love,
Jess

our choice: high garden tea

Well, a new year means new attempts at healthy eating for most of us here at the i+w office. A few of us are trying cleanses, be it half-assed or balls-to-the-wall, but dangit, we’re trying.

In our journey to better our innards, one of the big steps has been omitting the coffee. THE COFFEE! The fuel that keeps our office running!

I love coffee. I’ve always wanted to love tea and wish I drank gallons of it, but have just never have been a tea head… until now. Enter High Garden Tea.

The sweet couple who own this amazing little tea shop tucked in East Nashville (you can also try some at Portland Brew next to imogene + willie) have turned me on to tea, and not just for the duration of the cleanse, but for good. For serious!

They focus on mostly herbal concoctions for health, healing and general human-body-upkeep, with your staple teas as well.

If you’re really into herbs, tea and curious elixirs… please go give Leah and Joel Larabell a visit. They are full of knowledge and are always happy to educate you on the benefits of any herb jar you point at: how it helps your body, where it comes from, the history of its roots and, most importantly, they can tell you exactly which blend is the closest to looking, smelling and sorta tasting like coffee! (It’s the Sunshine Blend – you’re welcome)

we’re here to help

First off, we wish so badly that you could visit us in the shop to receive your personal fitting. We understand that buying clothes online can be a challenge, but buying a perfectly fitted pair of jeans without trying them on while looking at a one-dimensional image is right up there with mastering physics, in my book.

If your geographic location hinders you from visiting our store for a personal fitting, we’re here to offer you the next best thing by way of email and/or a phone call.

As a first time or returning customer, when ordering your jeans, we want to make sure we get it right on the first try, so we encourage and invite you to call or email so we can make absolutely sure that you’re getting the best fit.

Our customer service “door” is always open and you deserve the same personal experience and assistance as if you were to walk into our store.

So call me. Email me. I am here to answer as many questions as I possibly can (and there are no dumb questions!) ranging from fit, fabric, wash, shrinkage, stretching, skinny legs, a generous booty, custom inseams, repairs or just where to get the best hot chicken or old fashioned in Nashville. You can call me during the below listed hours and email me anytime. I hope to hear from you soon!

file under: customer appreciation

Our customers are hands down the best part about working for imogene + willie. And I promise I’m not trying to throw out a “hint hint” or a “wink wink,” but when I get fan mail it makes my day. Even just a postcard, hilarious drawings, photos, handwritten notes… and I definitely don’t mind when I get bourbon caramel, bacon peanut brittle (yep, you heard it), Momofuku cookies, craft beer and gin from Chicago – and every other awesome treasure I’ve received in the mail from our loyal and loving jean-wearers. I save it all… every little trinket. Except for the perishables. I eat those, and of course share them, too. Food and good beer are the skeleton keys to my heart.

Love,

Jess (wink, wink)
