eddie vs. hank

Up until now, your best friend was Willie or Barton. But now… meet Hank. This jean is lovingly named for our 4-year-old nephew, also known as Cantankerous Hank.

Just like the jean that is named for him, Hank is big and strong and rough and tumbly. But most of all, he is sweet and kind and loving. As Hank always says, “I love you to the moon and back.” He knows no strangers because he confidently introduces himself to everyone on the street. “Hi. My name is Hank. I have 2 dogs, Willow and Cooper.”

The real Hank would be your best buddy. And the jean in his namesake might possibly be, too.

It was such a pleasure to have our friend Eddie George, Heisman Trophy winner and Tennessee Titans legend, test drive our new rough, rigid + roomier fit. He was a blast to shoot and we can’t wait to share even more from our time with him soon.

waiting out winter

A homage to all craftspeople who spend their winters tucked inside their workshops waiting for better weather.

amanda valentine: resident badass

Our hearts are all swolled up with proudness for our ladybird Amanda Valentine. All her hard work these past few years has landed her a spot on this season’s Project Runway, and there couldn’t be a more deserving gal. Anyone who has crossed Amanda’s path, has ever had her as a waitress at our neighborhood wine bar or is lucky enough to know her personally, has most certainly been positively affected by her radiant smile, kindness and addictive laugh.

It was apparent that we all share the same sentiment when I walked into a packed out bar filled with friends and family, there solely to show support and cheer for Amanda for the big viewing party of the season premiere. We have all watched her working her butt off these past few years and Nashville is proud to claim her as “ours.” We love you Amanda Valentine. Happy “you” day!

Love,
Jess

love letters

A great fundraiser from a great company in collaboration with great designers for a great cause.

Seven designers and one badass printshop came together to help support The Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum. It is the only museum dedicated to the preservation, study, production and printing of wood type, and they’re being forced to relocate and need help raising funds to move and store their incredible type collection.

We found out about the project a little too late in the game to get in on the coaster action, but it’s not too late to help support the company and donate to help with the move here.

Fingers crossed for another round of coasters.

file under: looking for

We here at imogene + willie are looking for an old canoe to hang up inside the gas station. It doesn’t need to be nice and it doesn’t need to float. It can be wood or fiberglass. The only requisite: it looks cool and is for sale. So if you know of one or might have one yourself, we would love to see a photo and possibly make you an offer on it. Please email help@imogeneandwillie.com.

Thanks,

Matt

our choice: torres

It was a few weeks ago when we first heard rumblings of a young gal by the name of Mackenzie Scott, recording under the moniker Torres. Her first album debuted recently and has received lots of love, including the likes of Pitchfork. We’re excited to check out her release show this Friday, February 8th at The Basement, and are officially entranced in her video performance of “Jealousy and I.”

happy birthday kristen

A happy happy birthday to our curly-headed cutie, Kristen!

family field trip

Let the field trips begin!

We planned really well?! A Friday afternoon trip to the Nashville flea, our first in a series of field trips for 2013, was rainy, dreary and cold. That didn’t effect the good finds we collected and belly laughs we had while treasure hunting together as a team.

The goal was simple, and we all looked and picked really quick because of the weather: We each were given some cash to score pieces that inspired us. These finds will christen our new creative/admin office space, in which we will be moving to soon.

**Note/clarification: new OFFICE space! We are not moving the store! We’ve had half our team camping out and crammed in working from our house for the past year. Time for cubicles. JUST KIDDING!

Love,

Carrie

another feather

When designing our first imogene + willie necklace, we knew we wanted to work with someone who shared similar vision, inspirations and passions as i+w. It was a joy to work with Asheville-based artist Hannah Ferrara of Another Feather. Learn more in this week’s Our Voice.

We just added more i+w x Drew’s Brews coffee, for those of you who were waiting for it… Go ahead, test it out and let us know if you have any questions.

And don’t worry, we’ll never share your email address with anyone else.
